A desire to help others, compassion and a feeling of empathy all led to my work.
My mom's battle - My motherís battle with Ovarian Cancer and Alzheimerís
For over ten years is one of the main reasons I do my work. Her operations, Chemotherapy Sessions and her Memory Problems all helped shape my wish and goal to help others who were suffering from illnesses. In the end though, my mother did not die from either the Ovarian Cancer or the Alzheimers. Due to errors made by the Hospital in making big mistakes in their care for her for another problem that had just occured, she passed away as her heart could not take it.
Volunteered at the Canadian Cancer Society
I worked as a volunteer on cancer patients at the Canadian Cancer Society. The people who came there were all undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatments. It was great to give back. I felt it could be me or someone close to me that was fighting the cancer. I will never forget the thanks that I received from the wonderful people there.
